Your first trip to an "Adults Only" resort - Part 1

You requested the time off of work. You packed all your bags. You said goodbye to your children. Now you're sitting at the airport waiting for the plane that will take you to your first adult's only resort. The excitement is almost overwhelming!! What will you find when you arrive? Will there be people like you there? Is it only going to be "pretty people" and "gym rats"? Did you remember to bring everything you need? Are you going to realize there are things you wish had brought but didn't think about? This series of articles will be a primer for those who will soon be experiencing Adults Only resorts for the first time. It will answer many of the most common questions

Each resort has it's own "vibe". Some have a spring break feel with constant parties around the pool, drinking competitions and games. Some are more romantic with plenty of out of the way spots for a couple to hide away for the day and watch the waves roll in on the beach. Still other's are somewhere in between with a main party pool and other quieter pools. No matter which type of resort you chose to go to, you'll get out of it what you put into it.

Choosing the right resort can be one of the hardest choices during the planning phase of your trip. Almost all Adults Only resorts cater to those who prefer to go "Au Naturel" although some allow it only in certain places. Some resorts like Temptations Resort in Cancun, Mexico are topless only while others like Hedonism II in Negril, Jamaica are full nude on one side and non nude on the other. It is always almost best to find a resort that caters to your preferred level of nudity. If you are uncertain, I would suggest going with a topless optional resort the first time.

Now that you have picked out a resort with your preferred comfort level of nudity, you're most likely asking yourself, what are the people that go to the resort going to look like? Will they all be perfect 10s with young, hard bodies? The answer is a resounding no. The makeup of each resort is a little different and also varies by time of year and can even vary from week to week. In our experience, the average age range is usually 30-50. There will most likely be a few model look alikes with nice tight bodies, and there will also be a few folks that are carrying around quite a few extra pounds, but the average folks are going to be just like you.

You may not realize this now, but by the time you get to the pool or beach and take off your clothes you'll realize that no one is judging you based on your body shape and/or looks. Clothing, or lack there of, is a great equalizer. It is much more important to have a great personality than a great body. If you are friendly, you will have no problems meeting other folks to chat with around the pool.

In the next part of this series, we'll go through a few of the Do's and Don'ts around Adult Resorts. There may not be many rules of etiquette, but they are extremely important to follow.
